Chris Hurst, portrait printed on a torn street poster

Alright?

I'm Chris Hurst. British by birth, New Jersey by zip code, New York by commute.

By day I’m a senior UX/UI designer at a global creative agency in New York. The rest of the time I design, build and rank sites for businesses who need the phone to ring.

I’ve been designing and building for the web since 2007. Hundreds of WordPress, design and SEO projects later, I still answer my own phone. The person you talk to is the person doing the work.

Away from the screen I coach youth soccer. It’s mostly shoelaces.

What I do

UX
Flows and structure. The bit that decides whether the rest matters.
UI
Interfaces, components, and the fiddly states nobody asks for.
Prototypes
Working HTML, CSS and JS, so people click instead of imagine.
WordPress
Custom themes and plugins. No page builders, no bloated templates.
Brand + print
Logos, identities, posters, ads.
SEO
Technical and local. A site nobody finds is an expensive secret.
